Two Homeless Men Found Shot, No Suspect Information

STOCKTON - Police investigated a shooting that injured two homeless men Sunday night.

The shootings were reported at about 8:30pm near the 900 block of West Weber. Police officers responded to the area for a report of a person shot and found a homeless man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man was transported to a hospital where he is expected to recover. According to police, the man said he shot himself and threw the gun in the water.

As they were investigating that case, a second homeless man approached also suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. Police say both men were uncooperative and gave conflicting information. Authorities are unsure if both shootings are related but say they most likely are.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600 where callers can remain anonymous.
