MODESTO - One person was rushed to a hospital after suffering a gun shot wound Monday morning.

Moments later another 911 call was placed leading deputies to the area of 9th and B Streets. Deputies and medical personnel located the victim in a vehicle there who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. That victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Indications suggest that the shooting may have taken place on Herndon Road near a market and the victim was driven away. Deputies were in the area searching for evidence of a crime scene.

The events and circumstances leading up to the shooting were not clear. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636 where callers can remain anonymous.
