Car, Service Dog for Autistic Boy Stolen

STOCKTON - On Sunday Cynthia Niswonger and her 12 year old son Neeko stopped at a Stockton McDonalds during a trip to use the restroom. Their car, a green Ford Focus Hatchback was left running with the doors locked,  the air conditioner turned on and their dog Sloan inside.

Cynthia had a remote key fob in her pocket which was how she was able to leave the car locked.

When she walked out of the restroom with her son, they saw a man brake the window to her car and leave with it.

Sloan serves as a therapy dog for Neeko who suffers from autism. Neeko is non verbal and uses an iPad to communicate. That iPad was also in the car.

The car has since been found in the area of American and 7th Street in Stockton but Neeko’s therapy dog Sloan and the iPad are still missing.

Cynthia and her son Neeko are from San Diego.

Sloan is a mixed dog about 2 years old, 20 pounds and looks like a mini lab. She was last seen near the McDonalds on Charter Way wearing a bright pink harness, a blue and pink flamingo and palm tree collar with a silver rainbow sheen dog bone shaped tag. She also had a hot pink leash attached to her.

Anyone with information regarding Sloan can contact Cynthia Niswonger at (619)316-2133.
