SAN FRANCISCO - Former City of Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva was arrested Sunday afternoon by investigators with the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office.
Silva was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail at 5:38pm and faces numerous felony charges including money laundering, embezzlement by a public officer and grand theft.
The arrest was ordered Thursday, as investigators with the district attorney's office served search warrants at Silva's north Stockton home and the Kid's Club facility in South Stockton. Several boxes and envelopes were removed from the building, some labeled financial documents and pay records dating back several years.
The new arrest is reportedly unrelated to Silva's previous arrest charges.
Silva had left for Colombia on vacation Wednesday. He returned on a flight to San Francisco Sunday. He is being held on one million dollars bail and is expected in San Joaquin County Superior Court Monday afternoon.
