According to the Kingman Police Department, Robertson was reportedly armed with a handgun and suicidal.

An officer located Robertson's vehicle at about 9:30pm in the parking lot of a business near the 1900 block of East Andy Devine Avenue. Robertson fled from the officer after refusing to comply with commands, reaching excessive speeds. His vehicle struck a sign post of the Power House Visitor Center after reaching speeds of 95 miles per hour. He was killed in the crash.

The roadway was closed until 7:00am. Authorities are unsure if Robertson, who was wanted on charges of child molestation of a victim under the age of ten, crashed intentionally. The investigation is ongoing.
