Unidentified Man's Remains Investigated as Homicide

STANISLAUS COUNTY - Authorities investigating the discovery of a man's remains are treating the case as a homicide and are asking for the public's help in identifying the victim.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office reports that detectives were called out to the 6600 block of McCracken Road north of Westley on November 18th for the report of a deceased person. Deputies arrived and found the remains of a heavyset man between the ages of 19 and 25. Detectives believe he may have been missing for the last couple of years.

Authorities say that identification is pending due to the condition of the remains. Investigators aren't sure how the body ended up in Ingram Creek and are looking for the public's help in identifying the victim and providing leads.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact Detective Wyatt at (209) 525-7091 or Crime Stoppers where callers can remain anonymous at (209) 521-4636.
