Police Investigate Major Injury Collision Involving Pedestrian

STOCKTON- A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital late Monday night after reportedly being struck by a vehicle.

The collision was reported at about 11:25pm near the intersection of Wilson Way and Park Street. Early reports indicate the pedestrian may have been run over more than once before emergency personnel arrived.

Police shut down Wilson Way to investigate the crash. The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital by ambulance.

The victim appeared to be an adult male, according to an official at the scene. He did not know where the pedestrian was traveling to, or if the victim was in a crosswalk when the collision happened.

The Stockton Police Traffic Unit responded to the intersection to examine the scene and take measurements for the investigation of the crash.

A pair of shoes and some other debris was scattered about the intersection closest to the southbound lanes.

There were no vehicles at the scene that appear to have stopped. Authorities indicated traffic cameras at the intersection may reveal more details about the crash.
