STOCKTON – Police arrested two people in Weston Ranch following a lengthy standoff stemming from an assault investigation.

Authorities say officers arrived Saturday morning to serve a warrant at a residence on the 900 block of Henry Long Boulevard relating to an assault case.

Police said the suspect fled the home before SWAT officers made entry, discarding several firearms. The suspect entered another home on the 800 block of Henry Long Boulevard and refused to exit.

Several hours passed with the standoff continuing. Some time after 8:00pm, police eventually used a non-lethal weapon to take the suspect into custody.

Dorothy Bell, 43, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on various felony charges. At about 8:30pm a second person identified as 26 year old Malaisha Blivins was arrested. Authorities say Blivins ran through a police line after being told not to. Blivins was forced to the ground and handcuffed, and charged with obstruction and resisting.
