Machete Attack Reported, Police Investigate

STOCKTON – Police responded to a report of a person injured in an assault involving a machete late Friday night.

Shortly after 11:00pm police responded to a report of a person assaulted with a machete near the 100 block of Clay Street. Arriving officers found a person suffering an injury to the hand. An ambulance was called to the location for the victim. Early reports indicate the suspect was no longer armed with the machete, and it may have been left behind at the scene.

As additional officers were responding, they located a person near El Dorado Street injured and bleeding from the face. That person was detained by police and believed to possibly be the suspect.
