Bicyclist Killed in River Road Crash

MODESTO – The California Highway Patrol investigated a crash that claimed the life of a bicyclist Monday evening.

The crash was reported shortly before 7:15pm on the 800 block of River Road, just east of Ryder Way. The incident was initially reported as a person suffering a heart attack or medical emergency with a person on the ground. Arriving emergency personnel soon discovered that the person had been struck by a vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

River Road was closed by Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputies and CHP Officers for the duration of the investigation. They were led to a woman in a white sedan who had reported the incident. Her involvement in the collision was unclear Monday evening to authorities, but she was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence.

Early indications suggest the victim was riding a bicycle westbound when he was struck by a vehicle. He landed near his bicycle. He was believed to have been shopping at a sporting goods store on Hatch Road and on his way home in the area where the collision happened. A shopping bag was found nearby.

Fatal crash on Highway 99

The crash happened just south of Arch Road shortly before 6am

STOCKTON – A crash involving at least three vehicles claimed the life of a motorist Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported at about 5:57am on the northbound lanes of Highway 99 just south of the Arch Road exit. At least two lanes were blocked, and it was reported that one person was trapped in a vehicle.

Early reports indicate the involved vehicles were reported as a Chevy Malibu, a Ford Focus, and a medium duty truck.

The crash was cleared and traffic was reopened by 9:00am.

Motorcycle Crash Closes Crows Landing Road

A CHP Officer takes measurements at a crash involving a motorcycle on Crows Landing Road Friday morning.

MODESTO – A crash involving a motorcyclist closed down Crows Landing Road Friday morning.

The crash happened shortly before 9:30am in between Service and Grayson Roads near a canal. Emergency crews responded for a report of a collision involving a street bike and at least one other vehicle towing a utility trailer.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital by ambulance, condition unknown. The roadway was closed down for over an hour as CHP Officers investigated and took measurements at the scene.

Pedestrian Killed in Turlock Vehicle Collision

Investigators use an imaging device to document Tuesday’s collision scene on Fulkerth Road in Turlock.

TURLOCK – A pedestrian was killed during a collision involving a motor vehicle Tuesday afternoon, closing down a busy roadway.

The collision happened at about 3:45pm on Fulkerth Road west of North Tully Road. Traffic was impacted while officers investigated the collision. Westbound Fulkerth Road between Tully Road and Countryside Drive.

On a social media post, the department asked motorists to avoid the area until further notice. Vehicles used a nearby shopping center to navigate around the scene. Eastbound traffic was not affected.
