Pedestrian Critically Injured in Stockton Crash

STOCKTON – Police investigated a hit and run crash that left a pedestrian critically injured early Friday morning.

Shortly after 1:00am police officers responded to the area of Aurora and Anderson Streets for a report of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle. The victims were identified as two men ages 44 and 32.

Authorities say the two men were walking in the street when they were struck by a vehicle. The car fled the area before emergency personnel arrived.

Both men were transported to a hospital where one was said to have critical injuries. The other is expected to survive.

Police have no description of the driver involved in the crash.

Collision Involving Ambulance Reported in Modesto

MODESTO – A collision involving an ambulance blocked a busy roadway near downtown Modesto Monday afternoon.

At about 5:15pm emergency crews responded to the area of Scenic Drive between High and Melrose Streets for a report of a vehicle collision involving an ambulance. Early reports indicate a patient was being transported at the time of the collision, however it is unclear if emergency equipment was activated.

A gold Nissan Maxima at the scene had major front end damage. Another white SUV parked on Melrose may have also been involved in the crash, but did not appear to have major damage.

Police closed down the roadway and diverted traffic away from the scene.

Fatal Crash Investigated in Modesto

MODESTO – A vehicle collision Thursday morning claimed the life of one person on Finch Road.

The crash happened shortly before 11:00am near the intersection of Business Park Drive and involved a white Jeep SUV and a white Chevrolet Malibu.

Firefighters with Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection and AMR paramedics responded to the scene. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Nearby business owners noted that the stretch of road has seen its share of bad collisions in the past but has since improved. The area behind the business park is known for a gathering place for racers, one man said.

Finch Road was closed while authorities worked the crash scene. Officers with California Highway Patrol responded to investigate.

Collision Involving Pedestrian Closes Carpenter Road

MODESTO – A collision involving pedestrian closed down Carpenter Road Friday night.

The crash happened shortly before 10:45pm just south of the intersection of Carpenter Road and Maze Boulevard.

Early reports indicated a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of Carpenter Road. Authorities closed Carpenter between Maze Boulevard and California Avenue.

No official update on the condition of the pedestrian was available at time of publication. Medics performed CPR on the victim according to Highway Patrol logs. A yellow blanket and debris could be seen in the road in front of the nearby High School.

The scene was turned over to the California Highway Patrol for investigation.
