MODESTO – Despite announcing the closure of over 500 locations across the country, the local Joann fabric store is safe to stay open for now.
The company announced Chapter 11 proceedings in mid January, after previously filing for bankruptcy in March of 2024.
In a January press release, the company stated “through the filing of customary motions with the Court, the Company intends to uphold its commitments to customers, Team Members, and partners, including continued payment of employee wages and benefits.”
The next nearest closest location anticipated to stay open is in Roseville.
