Robbery Suspect Arrested in Turlock

TURLOCK – A deputy with a sharp eye spotted a suspect wanted for armed robbery in Merced County Wednesday night, leading to an arrest.

Shortly before 11:00pm, the deputy spotted the man at a car was on the 1000 block of North Golden State Boulevard. The man was with a vehicle that had no license plate. Additional deputies and assistance from Turlock authorities were requested to assist.

After establishing a perimeter in the area, Sheriff Deputies, Turlock Police Officers, and CSU Stanislaus Officers moved in and quickly detained the man matching the description of the suspect. Early indications suggest the suspect had a ski mask and a firearm. Another person who was said to have walked away from the vehicle was also detained, however their involvement was unknown Thursday morning.

Authorities from the Merced County Sheriff’s Office later arrived to take custody of the suspect.
