MERCED – Authorities are investigating after the new sign of the Merced Applegate Zoo was stolen.
The report of the stolen sign was shared on various social media accounts including Merced Police, the City of Merced, and the zoo itself.
“This sign wasn’t just for the zoo,” the message said. “It was for the families, school groups, and visitors who have a passion for our zoo and rely on it to find their way.”
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the sign, if anyone has seen anything or anyone near the zoo who may have surveillance video that can help, to contact Merced Police at (209) 385-6905.
