STOCKTON – The temperatures during the winter months seems to drop by the minute once the sun goes down, and something similar seemed to happen to the hometown Kings in their 106-91 loss to the G-League Agua Caliente Clippers Friday night at Stockton Arena.
The Kings began the game by running out to 8-0 & 19-8 leads, led by returning center Emanuel Terry, who just completed a 3-game appearance with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. Emanuel’s high-energy play was punctuated with a powerful dunk, that brought the Kings bench to their feet. However, the Kings seemed to lose that energy and edge and watched as their shots stopped falling, and the Clippers took the lead and extended it throughout the game.
The Agua Caliente Clippers were led by guard Nate Darling with 28 points and Center Moses Wright chipped with 18 for the victorious visitors.
Stockton point guard Jahmi’us Ramsey, returning from a stint with Sacramento, led all Kings scorers with 23 points, while Terry finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Stockton couldn’t regain their shooting touch from the first quarter, and ended the game shooting 37% from the field.
The Kings will travel to Santa Cruz on Monday for a Martin Luther King Day game against the Warriors. The kings will return home on Thursday, January 20th to face the Sioux Falls Sky Force. Game time is 7:00PM.
