Authorities Rescue Dogs in Animal Neglect Investigation

STANISLAUS COUNTY – Authorities rescued several dogs during an animal neglect investigation Monday.

Acting on a tip received by Stanislaus County Animal Services, deputies assigned to rural crime investigations responded to a property near Keyes and Faith Home Roads.

The tip indicated alleged animal cruelty. Sergeant Luke Schwartz with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office said the rural crime investigators coordinated the response to the property.

Several dogs were seized from the property, according to Sergeant Schwartz. Deputies also attempted to rescue several calves from the property but were unable to.

One person identified as Jose Gonzales was arrested.
