MODESTO – Authorities investigated a collision that critically injured a child Friday afternoon.
Shortly after 5:00pm officers with the California Highway Patrol were dispatched to the area of Glenn Avenue and Ustick Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Early reports indicate a one year old child was critically injured in the collision. First responders reported traumatic injuries and requested a helicopter to the scene. An ambulance rushed the patient away for care.
The California Highway Patrol had the incident listed as a hit and run with injuries. Stanislaus Sheriff Deputies assisting with the investigation appeared to have someone detained nearby.
