Major Collision Following Pursuit Investigated
CERES – Authorities closed down Whitmore Avenue Thursday afternoon following a crash that happened during a pursuit.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office reported that multiple agencies including the Ceres and Modesto Police Departments and their own agency were involved in the investigation.
Early reports indicate the incident began in south Modesto during a traffic stop. The Sheriff’s Office reported the occupants of the suspect vehicle were wanted in connection to a violent felony, but no further details were immediately provided.
Whitmore Avenue was expected to remain closed for several hours.
