VALLEY HOME – A fire early Monday morning sent one person to a hospital in critical condition after they were located in a burning structure.
At about 3:40am, firefighters at Station 30 were alerted by a citizen that a structure was on fire near Schultz Road. The crew with Engine 30 arrived and encountered smoke and fire conditions and requested additional resources to the scene.
Additional firefighters arrived to assist and were able to make entry into the home once the fire was controlled. Firefighters located an occupant inside and rushed that person to the hospital. Authorities said their condition was critical. Reports indicate that individual later died.
A cause of the fire was not available, however the fire investigation unit was working to determine that.
