MODESTO – A man was arrested Sunday following a stabbing investigation at a Motel 6 parking lot.
Walter Fernando Zuniga Lara, 38, was arrested Sunday evening near the 1700 block of Olympia Street in South Modesto.
Police charged Lara in connection with the stabbing of a woman on Saturday at the Motel 6 on Orangeburg Avenue. The victim was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Monday morning police described her condition as serious but stable.
After the stabbing Lara took his child, prompting the activation of an Amber Alert. The 11 year old boy was located safe later Sunday morning.
Lara was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on attempted homicide and domestic violence charges.
