STOCKTON – Police charged a 19 year old man in connection to a homicide from February, the department announced Tuesday evening.
Demetre Cassell, 19, was previously in custody and now faces an additional homicide charge.
On February 23rd, 2022 officers were dispatched shortly before 5:00pm to Santa Paula Way for a report of a shooting. Three people were found with gunshot wounds, two males and one female. Officers provided aid to the victims until medics could arrive to transport them to a hospital. One of the victims, a 19 year old man, died at the scene.
Jail records show Cassell was previously arrested March 29th 2022 and held without bail. His charges include three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of using a firearm during the commission of a felony, and two counts of convicted person possessing a firearm under the age of 30.
Cassell is expected to appear in court October 13th 2022 at 1:30pm in Department Z.
