LODI – A toddler drowned at Lodi Lake Sunday afternoon, according to a police department press release.
Police officers and firefighters responded at about 4:45pm near the southeast side of the lake for a report of a drowning. Police officers arrived first and began providing aid to a toddler boy. An off duty doctor who was at the lake assisted officers providing aid for the child until firefighters arrived on scene.
Firefighters provided resuscitation until the child was transported by ambulance to Lodi Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately the toddler was pronounced deceased.
The circumstances surrounding the drowning were unavailable Monday, or if the child was using a floatation device.
