Victim Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Weekend Stockton Shooting

STOCKTON – Police investigated an early morning shooting that sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries Sunday.

At about 4:31 AM officers with the Stockton Police Department responded to the area of Aurora and Worth Streets for a report of a person injured during a shooting. Arriving officers found an adult male who had been shot. He was rushed to a hospital by ambulance and his injuries were said to be life threatening.

Detectives responded to investigate the incident. Aurora Street was closed between East Scotts Avenue and East Anderson Street while detectives and evidence technicians examined the scene. An area under the Mormon Slough over-crossing was taped off by police.

As of Sunday afternoon, the victim was said to be unidentified. No suspect information was available. This shooting did not appear to be related to the recent series of homicide investigations in Stockton according to officials.
