MERCED COUNTY – The Merced California Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving a midsize car and farm tractor Thursday.

CHP Merced says the crash happened on State Route 59, however no one was badly injured.

According to CHP Merced, these type of crashes happen often due to the area being big on agriculture.

Authorities say agricultural vehicles may use the same road in rural areas and that many of these vehicles usually drive slower. They also may abruptly move from or across the roadway into agricultural land.

It is advised to always drive at a safe speed, wear seat belts and avoid distractions to prevent crashes.
