Fatal Crash Reported Near Patterson

WEST STANISLAUS COUNTY – A fiery crash near Patterson along Interstate Five claimed the life of at least one person Sunday evening.

Shortly before 8:00pm, emergency crews were dispatched to a report of a fire located near the Sperry Road exit. A vehicle was found down a ravine and on fire by arriving personnel.

The vehicle was believed to have crashed down from the highway before catching fire, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least one person died in the collision. Dispatch traffic indicated there were two victims.

No details were available on the type of vehicle involved. The cause of the crash was being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
