MODESTO – A driver evading a deputy was captured after crashing into a box truck Wednesday night.
Shortly before 10:00pm a Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Martin Luther King Drive. The northbound vehicle did not stop and continued where it collided into a box truck at Maze Boulevard. The crash disabled the vehicle and caused the box truck to overturn just east of the intersection.
The driver fled on foot north on Martin Luther King Drive and into an alley where the deputy used a taser to apprehend him. Medics were called to the scene to check on the suspect and the driver of the box truck, who appeared un injured.
