About Us

Our Story

Our roots in local journalism run deep in the community. CVTV was launched in 2000 by George and Ellen Stallings, both who came from broadcast television and saw a need for an underserved community. The company began as “Cable One Reports,” a 100% local cable news program. It evolved into “The Central Valley Report,” and in its prime aired a 30 minute news show 4 times daily to residents across Stanislaus, Northern Merced and Southern San Joaquin Counties.

George passed away in 2009, Ellen retired from news and Carlos carried the torch from then on to continue the CVTV mission. Today, across multiple platforms, CVTV reaches an audience of over 200,000 viewers.
