MODESTO – Deputies investigated a shooting that injured one person early Friday morning on West Hatch Road.
At about 12:15am deputies were dispatched to the 2300 block of West Hatch Road for a report of a person shot. The area is located just west of Carpenter Road and south of the Tuolumne River.
Responding deputies arrived to find a man down in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. Firefighters with Burbank-Paradise Fire and an AMR ambulance crew responded to provide care and transport the victim to a hospital.
Deputies were able to locate a vehicle leaving the area and stop it at the Turlock rest area off of Highway 99. The involvement of the occupants was undetermined at time of publication.
