MODESTO – Police investigated the shooting death of a 38 year old man early Friday morning as a homicide.
Shortly before 1:30am officers with the Modesto Police Department responded to the 400 block of Vine Street for a report of a person down in front of a home. Arriving officers found a man who had been shot.
Aid was provided to the victim, but he died on scene from his injuries. Police said the shooter remained at large and there was no suspect description late Friday morning. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were unknown.
