NORTH FORK – With the quick spread of the Creek Fire which has now burned over 143,000 acres and 65 buildings in three days, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office is helping with evacuations.
The sheriff’s office says the Madera County Sheriff’s Office through the California Office of Emergency Services requested mutual aid from surrounding agencies.
Several Merced County deputies volunteered to assist with door to door evacuations near the fire zone.
The Merced County Sheriff’s Office said they will continue to assist the Madera County Sheriff’s Office until their services are no longer needed.
