STOCKTON – Police investigated a shooting that claimed the life of one person Saturday night.
Police officers were called to the area of California and Worth Streets shortly after 8:30pm for a report of a shooting. Police located a victim, described only as a male, down on the ground suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.
Police closed off the area with crime scene tape between California and Sutter Streets, and Anderson Street north to the railroad tracks. Detectives responded to the scene to investigate the case.
No motive or suspect information was available Saturday night.
