MODESTO – Deputies with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office investigated an assault Thursday afternoon.
At about 1:05pm deputies responded to the 1700 block of John Street for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. An adult male was found injured and taken to a hospital to be treated. The extent of injuries to the victim was unclear Thursday afternoon.
The area was taped off as authorities examined the area for evidence. Early reports indicate conflicting witness statements, as officials worked to identify those responsible for the assault.
