MANTECA – Authorities responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a train Thursday afternoon.
The train blocked off the Main Street and Yosemite Avenue crossings while authorities investigated.
The pedestrian was killed as a result of the collision. No information regarding the identity of the pedestrian was available at time of publication.
Business owners in the area indicated that there have been others previous in the same area. A memorial could be seen just south of Moffat Boulevard near the transit center, presumably for a previous victim.
Police and Sheriff Deputies remained at the scene to take measurements and investigate the crash.
