Police Seek Driver in Crash Involving Pedestrian

MODESTO – Traffic investigators with the Modesto Police Department responded to a collision involving a pedestrian Sunday night.

The crash happened shortly after 9:00pm on McHenry Avenue between Robin Hood Drive and Sylvan Avenue. Officials at the scene said a pedestrian with a bicycle was struck on McHenry Avenue. The involved vehicle left before officers arrived.

The pedestrian was rushed by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries. Traffic officers responded to take over the investigation. Officers had not established Sunday night if the pedestrian was walking the bicycle or riding it.

Early reports indicated a possible involved vehicle may have been a white Chevy pickup truck that was last seen traveling south on McHenry Avenue. Authorities are asking for the driver to come forward.
