MODESTO – Authorities investigated a report of a person shot near a busy shopping center Sunday night.
The incident happened near the intersection of Crows Landing Road and Butte Avenue shortly after 9:30pm. An area near an alleyway just west of the intersection was taped off as a crime scene.
An ambulance responded to the location and transported one victim. Early reports indicate the incident may have been an armed robbery.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff air unit also responded to assist searching the area. The area is near several busy shopping centers and taco trucks.
No confirmed suspect information was available at time of publication.
