Rider Killed, Passenger Injured in Head on Crash Involving Motorcycle on Highway 132

STANISLAUS COUNTY – A collision between a motorcycle and a SUV claimed the life of the rider and caused major injuries to his passenger Friday night.

The crash was reported shortly after 9:30pm on Highway 132 just west of Albers Road. The California Highway Patrol reports a 26 year old woman driving wast on the highway attempted to pass slower traffic, however merged into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. Both vehicles collided, ejecting the rider of the motorcycle and the passenger.

Both patients were taken by ambulance to a hospital. The motorcyclist, a 50 year old Waterford man, died from his injuries. The 45 year old woman passenger also from Waterford suffered major injuries.

The woman driver of the GMC suffered minor injuries in the crash. The vehicle had major damage to the front right wheel area.

The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
