Woman Struck by Hit and Run Driver
MODESTO – A woman was rushed to a hospital after she was injured by a hit and run driver early Monday morning.
The crash happened at about 1:25am near the intersection of McHenry and Morris Avenues. The woman was struck by a southbound vehicle which continued driving and then turned east on a side street.
The woman was crossing McHenry Avenue in a crosswalk at the time of the collision, according to Police Spokeswoman Sharon Bear. The vehicle was described as a small dark sedan driven by a male.
The victim’s injuries were described as moderate, but she was expected to survive. Southbound lanes of McHenry Avenue were closed while officers investigated.
