Late Night Fires Keep First Responders Busy

MODESTO – Several fires in a neighborhood near West Modesto kept first responders busy Tuesday night.

At about 10:30pm, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a fire at the rear of a home near Sierra and Sunset Streets. Arriving crews found fire at the rear of a home that had caused damage to utility lines.

Around the same time, firefighters were dispatched to a fence fire just down the street. Two blocks over, a pile of clothing that had been set on fire was found in the middle of the road. Another fire was dispatched to the area of Tuolumne Boulevard and Highway 99 around the same time.

All fires were controlled within an hour. An investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause.

No damage estimate was available Tuesday night, and there were no reports of injuries.
