Truck Suspected in Fatal Hit and Run Located

MODESTO – One person has been detained for questioning after police located a truck suspected in a fatal hit and run

Officers said a citizen noticed the truck near the 300 block of Magnolia Avenue Thursday afternoon. The citizen called authorities who began searching for the vehicle.

Traffic investigators located the truck parked in a nearby driveway at a residence. The vehicle had no front bumper and no hood. Officers said the vehicle also had a freshly replaced windshield.

One person was detained and taken to the police station to be interviewed by an investigator, however their involvement was unknown at time of publication.

The vehicle was a green Chevrolet S10 pickup.

The collision happened Tuesday night near the intersection of 8th and L Streets. Police responded after a man was struck by a westbound vehicle in the intersection. Police say the truck did not stop and fled north on 7th Street.
