Homicide Investigated Near Lodi

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY – Authorities suspected homicide after two people were found deceased in a home near Lodi.

Sheriff’s Officials said their dispatch center received a 911 call shortly after 8:00am from a person who entered their grandparents home and found two people unresponsive. Detectives responded and treated the investigation as a homicide.

The residence where the investigation took place was on the 5000 block of Kingdon Road.

The circumstances surrounding the investigation were unavailable at time of publication. Authorities offered no further details, but asked anyone with information to call (209) 468-4400.

Two Injured in West Modesto House Fire

MODESTO – A fire at a duplex home in West Modesto late Friday afternoon injured two people.

At about 4:40pm firefighters were dispatched to a duplex home on the 1700 block of Erie Avenue for a report of a fire. The duplex sits just east of Robertson Road Elementary School.

Arriving fire personnel reported heavy smoke conditions from the front of one of the duplex units. Additional firefighters responding to combat the blaze soon encountered heavy fire.

Within 15 minutes, the fire appeared to be under control, but not before also damaging the neighboring unit. A damage estimate was not available at time of publication.

A man and a woman were assisted by medical personnel into waiting ambulances for care of unspecified injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire Damages Home, One Person Taken To Hospital

MODESTO – A fire Friday afternoon caused damage to a home on Chicago Avenue, and sent one person to a hospital for smoke inhalation related injuries.

The fire was dispatched shortly before 2:00pm on the 600 block of Chicago Avenue. Multiple fire crews responded including Burbank-Paradise Fire, Modesto Fire Department, and other agencies.

Two homes suffered fire damage in the fire. A woman was taken by AMR medical personnel in an ambulance to a hospital for smoke inhalation treatment.

The fire was controlled in about 45 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Attic Fire at Redwood Apartments Quickly Extinguished

MODESTO – Firefighters rushed to a report of smoke from an attic Tuesday afternoon, quickly extinguishing a small attic fire before it could spread to the rest of an apartment complex.

The fire was dispatched at about 12:15pm to the Redwood Apartments at the corner of Yosemite Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue. Arriving firefighters found smoke blowing out of an attic vent.

The fire was described as small and quickly controlled. Officials at the scene did not believe the residents would be displaced as long as they could determine the source of the issue.

At least one unit suffered some damage, but possibly a second one due to water.

Fire investigators were on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
