Pedestrian Critically Injured in Stockton Crash

STOCKTON – Police investigated a hit and run crash that left a pedestrian critically injured early Friday morning.

Shortly after 1:00am police officers responded to the area of Aurora and Anderson Streets for a report of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle. The victims were identified as two men ages 44 and 32.

Authorities say the two men were walking in the street when they were struck by a vehicle. The car fled the area before emergency personnel arrived.

Both men were transported to a hospital where one was said to have critical injuries. The other is expected to survive.

Police have no description of the driver involved in the crash.

Crash Investigated in West Modesto

MODESTO – Police closed off a roadway in West Modesto to investigate a collision after the driver of the involved vehicle was found unresponsive.

At about 8:30pm, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Briggs Avenue and Ackerman Way for a report of a crash involving two vehicles. Arriving personnel found the driver unresponsive and began providing care. The driver was rushed to a hospital by ambulance, where their condition was unknown at time of publication.

A neighbor captured the collision on their surveillance cameras. The video showed the car traveling at a slow speed and eventually colliding into the front of a parked car.

No further details were available Monday night.

Damaged Vehicle Found Near Hit and Run Crash Scene

MODESTO – Authorities investigated a crash Thursday night after a vehicle was found with significant front end damage.

At about 10:00pm California Highway Patrol Officers, Woodland Avenue Firefighters and AMR medical personnel responded to the 1300 block of McWilliams Way for a report of a vehicle that had appeared to have just been involved in a crash drove up to a business.

The vehicle pulled up to the front of a tow yard, making a lot of noise in the process. The employees, believing one of their own vehicles had been struck, came outside and saw the damaged vehicle.

Witnesses in the area said the driver appeared to smell like alcohol. Moments earlier, police were dispatched to the area of Carpenter Road and Torrid Avenue for a report of a vehicle that had struck a pole. Emergency personnel were unable to find the involved vehicle there.

After examining the driver, firefighters and medical personnel left the scene. Officers remained behind to investigate the crash.

Multi Vehicle Collision Reported on Highway 99

MODESTO – Emergency crews responded to a crash involving several vehicles on Highway 99 Saturday afternoon.

The crash was reported near the Tuolumne Boulevard exit at about 12:11pm and involved a motorcyclist who was reported down in the roadway.

The area where the collision occurred is very close to where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle last week by a hit and run driver.

The northbound lanes were backed up while emergency personnel tended to the injured motorists, however the extent of injuries was unknown at time of publication.
