OAKDALE – A crash on Highway 120 closed the roadway and claimed the life of a motorcyclist Wednesday night.
The crash was reported on Highway 120 just north of Valley Home Road at about 9:52pm. Early reports indicate a motorcycle, Toyota Prius and a big rig were all involved in the crash. The Prius appeared overturned next to the motorcycle. The rider was ejected from the bike.
The roadway was completely closed to traffic while officers with California Highway Patrol investigated and took measurements. The circumstances surrounding the crash were not available at time of publication.
Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Hit and Run Crash
SALIDA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The crash happened shortly after 10:00pm near the intersection of Kiernan Avenue and Sisk Road. Arriving emergency personnel found a motorcyclist down in the roadway. The rider was rushed to a hospital by ambulance in unknown condition.
Early reports indicated that a vehicle was seen fleeing the area north on Highway 99. A CHP officer located a Mitsubishi vehicle with major front end damage near Hammatt Avenue, but at time of publication it was unclear if there was any relation to the crash.

Truck Rolls Off Highway 99 in Modesto
MODESTO – Emergency personnel responded to a report of a truck that rolled off of Highway 99 down an embankment Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after 6:00pm police and fire emergency responders were dispatched to the area of Southbound Highway 99 near North 9th Street just south of the Carpenter Road overcrossing. Police and CHP Officers located a truck and trailer that had rolled off the highway. The truck came to stop behind a construction company building against an iron fence.
Police and fire responders worked to remove the driver who was said to be unresponsive. He was placed in an ambulance to be transported to a hospital. Rescuers were performing aid as they left.
The circumstances regarding the crash were under investigation Tuesday.
Fatal Pedestrian Collision Investigated
STANISLAUS COUNTY – A pedestrian was pronounced deceased after being discovered on the side of a road, the victim of an apparent vehicle collision Thursday morning.
The incident was reported shortly before 7:00am near the intersection of West Main Street and South Morgan Road. Fire personnel were initially dispatched for a report of a person down on the side of the road suffering an unspecified medical emergency. Authorities were soon requested after it was determined the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. An air ambulance was initially requested but later canceled.
According to the California Highway Patrol, early indications suggest the crash was a hit and run. There was no description available of an involved vehicle. The pedestrian was only described as a woman.
