MODESTO – Traffic investigators with the Modesto Police Department responded to a collision involving a pedestrian Sunday night.
The crash happened shortly after 9:00pm on McHenry Avenue between Robin Hood Drive and Sylvan Avenue. Officials at the scene said a pedestrian with a bicycle was struck on McHenry Avenue. The involved vehicle left before officers arrived.
The pedestrian was rushed by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries. Traffic officers responded to take over the investigation. Officers had not established Sunday night if the pedestrian was walking the bicycle or riding it.
Early reports indicated a possible involved vehicle may have been a white Chevy pickup truck that was last seen traveling south on McHenry Avenue. Authorities are asking for the driver to come forward.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash Investigated Near Oakdale
OAKDALE – A crash on Highway 120 closed the roadway and claimed the life of a motorcyclist Wednesday night.
The crash was reported on Highway 120 just north of Valley Home Road at about 9:52pm. Early reports indicate a motorcycle, Toyota Prius and a big rig were all involved in the crash. The Prius appeared overturned next to the motorcycle. The rider was ejected from the bike.
The roadway was completely closed to traffic while officers with California Highway Patrol investigated and took measurements. The circumstances surrounding the crash were not available at time of publication.
Train Collides with Trailer Near Turlock
TURLOCK – A collision involving a freight train and a truck trailer closed down a busy roadway Wednesday afternoon.
The crash was dispatched at about 3:40pm at the intersection of South Golden State Boulevard near Daubenberger Road. The trailer involved in the crash was destroyed, spilling contents onto the roadway.
Railroad traffic was stopped while emergency crews worked at the scene. The truck appeared to be carrying food product or fruit juice.
The circumstances regarding the crash were still under investigation however no injuries were reported.
Fatal Motorcycle Crash Investigated Near Empire
EMPIRE – Officers with the California Highway Patrol investigated a fatal crash involving a motorcycle Tuesday night.
The crash happened shortly before 10:30pm near the intersection of South Santa Fe and South Avenues. Early reports indicate a street bike collided with a small gray car. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene, a second was rushed to a hospital via ambulance. Their condition was unknown early Wednesday morning.
The area was closed for about two hours while officers investigated the scene. The motorcycle was said to have come to rest south of the intersection. The involved vehicle was not in sight.
